RL Buddy first usage during RLCS Fall Major

During some of the esports matches, you want to give the commentators just a little bit more information about the game and that is what Rocket League Buddy does. Using SOS-Plugin Rocket League Buddy is a stand-alone application that runs on Android Tablets or Windows (that last one is not open to the public at the moment). While at the moment just a little prototype, it is actively being developed by adding more stats, customization for the layout, and custom data that can be sent or retrieved from other data points. The application was first used during RLCS Fall Major in Rotterdam to collect feedback and start the process of improving the application.

This is every bit of awesome you all think it is and then some — Sean Stackhouse (@StaxRL) December 8, 2022

This has been amazing. Thank you so much for your work! – Jack Collier (@CorelliTV) December 8, 2022

For a little prototype, the application was greatly appreciated by the casters and the observers who almost all used it in different ways that I didn’t even anticipate beforehand. Some of the feedback will be looked at during some of my downtimes if it is doable to add different stats for them to give more tools to tell a story during a tournament.

If you are interested in using the app and how it could work in your production you can contact me at info@geertverhoeff.com regarding pricing outside of the free version. Although at the moment I mainly see this project as a starting point to make it a full fletched application. This app is not affiliated with Psyonix and is an unofficial fan app.

  1. This is such an exciting project. When seeing this tool in action at the Fall Major I wondered how something like this never existed before. I’m interested to see which features may be added in the future.

    1. Thank you! Totally missed the comment. I have made a simplified version available on Android for anyone to download for free 🙂 Always open for feedback and feature requests.
