The title says it all. I am going back freelance for the foreseeable future working on some personal projects (that I will update on this blog more regularly) and I will be working for other companies. I have learned a lot during my time at DreamHack and ESL. Meeting wonderful people in the process. My last event as a full-time employee was RLCS Worlds as a Technical Operations Manager. Not leaving esports or Rocket League. Just changing my approach. If you want to contact me best way is to email me at info@geertverhoeff.com or DM me on Twitter.

This whole season we have been using the Hype Chamber as part of our RLCS broadcasts made by Capacity. With now the sample package being released I thought about picking up that VR headset, that I have been neglecting since the META logo showed up at boot, and experiencing that Matchup Intro in VR. You can download the project and get some more information HERE if you want to mess with it yourself in UE4.

My tiny little app Put Me Down is now in Early Access on the Play Store (DOWNLOAD). This is mostly for me a learning process in using Android Studio and submitting an app to the Play Store so that others can download it. A very simple app that tells you to put down your phone when the timer is running by detecting if the phone is moving. An idea for my upcoming holiday where I will try to use my phone less for periods of time to enjoy nature. Maybe I will extend the app with achievements, a walking mode

Typing this on my last day in the US after almost a month of prepping the RLCS Winter Major and some other things. Being in the US with the time differences made it easier to get those last things in. First in Dallas to scout the now announced Dickies Arena in Dallas where we will produce the RLCS World Championship, making sure everything was packed in our warehouse for LA, and also a quick visit to the convention center for DreamHack Dallas where we will produce the CRL. Dickies will be amazing and working on getting those plans ready with

Went for a little short morning walk this morning. Getting those steps in on my day off before heading to Dallas on Monday. I have walked most of the route before and always come across a gardening association that is called “Ons Genot” (meaning Our Pleasure), but what strikes me as contradicting is that it is probably the most well-guarded garden association that I know of in the area. Wanted to make the picture of the hand-painted sign behind the pond and the red/white fence before, but never did it until today. It feels like an unreachable Utopia. Something only

So haven’t posted in a while, but it has been crazy weeks working on some things for RLCS and two other projects I can not tell anything about yet. But… I am finally taking at least 30 minutes a day (when I am home) to start learning the piano with the app Melodics. Getting back on track to learn something creative every day and trying to make more things. Started to post regularly on Ello. Not new to making music. Had music lessons in high school, learned the clarinet for some years but haven’t touched it in like 8 years,

Still out of the office this week and some tinkering time for the new home. Besides the regular things that need to happen when you are renovating step-by-step I also am gradually installing some smart devices throughout the home to work with Home Assistant. Today I had time to install a simple on-air sign with off-the-shelf tech to show my girlfriend when I am on a call. In this post I am going to assume you have set up Home Assistant and have a basic understanding of its workings. The best way I could think of to make a light

It has been quiet on my blog the past few weeks due to a few reasons. One is moving to a new house that needed (and still needs) some love to make it our own. The other reason is all the preparations that went into the return to LAN with RLCS Fall Major. We rounded up some of the old team again that we used to fly across the world to do the technicals for all the different shows to work in our Studio 1 of the DreamHack Stockholm Studio. It has been a journey beginning with the online regionals

Was browsing through my messy folders on my desktop and found another track that I made while everything in the Netherlands was closed. Well, at least all the fun things in the Netherlands. Again not a track that is meant for a larger release and just something to have in the background while working or waking up. Something to take your mind of things. Used a wide variety of free VST plugins for this one and mostly aimed to learn more about Ableton Live itself without overcomplicating things. The nature sounds you hear in the background are part of the
